THE 2005 INSTITUTE OF DESIGN MONTREAL AWARDS
Poster for a multidisciplinary design competition.

This award was presented annually to outstanding projects in the fields of industrial, architectural, graphic, urban, and fashion design.

The central visual element is a photograph of the three-dimensional trophy. This object embodies a conceptual exploration of fundamental geometric forms: a translucent cube enclosing a translucent sphere, which in turn encapsulates an opaque pyramid. As such, the trophy pays homage to Cézanne's philosophy, who famously remarked: “Everything in nature is modeled according to the sphere, the cone, and the cylinder. One must learn to paint on these simple shapes, and afterward, one can do whatever one wants." His words, highlighting the profound importance of these basic geometric shapes in both artistic expression and design, inspired me to design this trophy, which was realized by the industrial designer Michel Dallaire. The color graphic flat accents added to the black and white photography inject excitement, dynamism and significance into the poster.
THE 2006 INSTITUTE OF DESIGN MONTREAL AWARDS
Poster for a multidisciplinary design competition.
This award recognized exceptional industrial, architectural, graphic, urban, and fashion design projects.

The central visual element of the poster features a complex three-dimensional image, symbolizing the elements composing the competition trophy.

To fully grasp the essence of this poster, it is crucial to decipher the significance of the five small images positioned at the top. The first three images portray geometrical perspective drawings of a cube, a sphere, and a pyramid. The fourth is a wireframe drawing combining these three forms into a unified structure. Finally, the fifth image is a photograph of the 3D competition trophy: a translucent cube enclosing a translucent sphere, which in turn encapsulates an opaque pyramid.

The Institute of Design Montreal trophy serves as an homage to Cézanne's renowned statement: “Everything in nature is modeled according to the sphere, the cone, and the cylinder. One must learn to paint on these simple shapes, and afterward, one can do whatever one wants." His words, highlighting the profound importance of these basic geometric shapes in both artistic expression and design, inspired me to design this trophy, which was realized by the industrial designer Michel Dallaire.
RENCONTRES (Encounters)
Exploring the Paradox of Vernacular Architecture in Israel
Poster for an exhibition at the UQAM Design Center (1999)

The poster captures the essence of an exhibition showcasing modern Israeli architecture. Against the backdrop of a Mediterranean blue sky, six massive polychrome blocks float, defying gravity. Interestingly, the spaces between these blocks subtly form a subliminal Star of David, the symbolic representation of the state of Israel.

The design not only invites viewers to explore the richness of Israeli architecture but also hints at this country intricate cultural and historical layers embedded within its vernacular structures.
